McPherson Housing Coalition, Inc. (MHC) is an alliance of community members whose mission is to develop, promote, and implement programs that provide affordable, decent and quality housing to eligible families. We strengthen communities by providing housing opportunities and supportive services to improve the quality of life and economic stability for seniors, working families and individuals.
MHC is committed to operating in an efficient, ethical and professional manner. We seek to partner with local residents, business, industry and government entities to enhance the quality of life for those we serve, utilizing appropriate resources and funding from all available sources.
In 2007, a group of community members met regularly to find solutions to the communities lack of affordable housing. They realized that it was having a negative effect on families and the community as a whole. They recognized that to have a healthy community housing must be available to families of every economic level. The was an important step and had to be addressed. In 2008 they formed McPherson Housing Coalition, Inc and began providing affordable housing opportunities to families in the community.
Our desire to serve the underserved has not changed and continues to be our goal. Not only do we work to meet immediate housing and safety needs, but we also work with clients to move past current situations, toward housing and financial stability. Today, the organization sponsors the County wide Brush Up Mac yearly event, the Homeless prevention/rapid rehousing program and we have sponsored two low income housing tax credit properties.
