Oak Harbor Cottages

The Oak Harbor Cottages are an emergency shelter that provide a safe, secure place for families experiencing homelessness in McPherson County, Kansas.

Brush Up MAC

Brush up Mac is a one-day event that brings volunteers to help low-income and senior homeowners with minor home repairs and yard cleanup. Homeowners who are physically or financially unable to make improvements to their homes benefit from this program. This event has been held since 2005.

Sutherland Estates

Sutherland Estates is McPherson Housing Coalition’s newest project in bringing affordable housing to McPherson. These units will be built just north of the Oak Harbor Cottages but unlike the cottages, will be permanent supportive housing. Stay tuned as this new and exciting project develops.

Mcpherson county housing conference

The McPherson County Housing Conference provides landlords, developers, builders, public officials, and the community with information on the local housing market, state and federal grants, and local resources. Through this conference, participants will have the opportunity to collaborate and find solutions for housing issues in McPherson County.
 

 

2026 McPherson County Housing Conference

 

Tuesday, September 22, 2026
8:30 a.m. to noon
122 E. Marlin St., McPherson, Kansas

Join McPherson Housing Coalition for a morning focused on current housing initiatives and the future of housing throughout McPherson County. Representatives from communities across the county will participate in a panel discussion covering:

  • Current housing projects
  • Workforce housing efforts
  • Infrastructure improvements
  • Incentive programs
  • Development challenges
  • Future housing goals

We will also hear from Steve with Prime Craftsman Homes. Steve and MHC will discuss how we are partnering to bring additional housing to communities throughout McPherson County. We will also share updates to Prime Craftsman Homes’ housing options that have been discussed as part of this partnership.

The conference is free, but advance registration is requested to help us plan for attendance.

Madison Langdon - Case Manager

Madison is a Case Manager with MHC. She has previous experience as a case manager in the mental health setting. Madison has a bachelor’s degree from Central Christian College and a Masters in Social Work from Western New Mexico University. She has a passion for meeting people’s needs and helping them progress in their well-being.

Madison and her husband Adam have been living in McPherson for about 6 years. They both grew up in Virginia, but stayed in McPherson after attending college. Madison enjoys drinking coffee, running, being outside, and spending time with friends and family.
